Education, Workforce, & Professional Development: Educational Offerings

CONSTRUCTED
Part of the AGC of Michigan’s effort to deliver the services you need in 2008 involves a robust continuing education program.

Our new CONSTRUCTED program will deliver training and education opportunities for your most valuable resource. . .your employees! Based on your input and the work of the Continuing Education Committee, the AGC of Michigan has developed this year-long series of educational opportunities which will be offered throughout the state. Please refer to the CONSTRUCTED brochure for additional information.

STP Unit 8: Managing the Project: The Supervisor’s Role

November 7, 21, December 5, 12, and 19, 2008 ~ 12:30 p.m.- 4:30 p.m.

This course includes the following sessions: Understanding Project Delivery; Systems/Alternate Contracting Methods; Managing Information; Managing and Understanding Risk; Planning the Work; Working the Plan; Managing Methods and Materials; Understanding Finances; Working with Project Partners; Understanding People; Understanding Corporate Policies/Procedures

LEED Estimating for Green Buildings

December 11 , 2008 ~ 8:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.

This program will cover the stages involved in estimating, designing and building sustainable construction. It will document the importance of an integrated design process and review what items may be, “no cost,” “minimal additional cost,” and “significant additional cost.” [registration]
